Today, I bring to you my reintroduction. A quick run down of who I am, what I stand for, and why I’ve chosen to come back to this blog.
I had a dry reading spell for the first half of 2019, but it’s picked up again since I came back from university for the summer. My time in First Year was exciting, sometimes challenging, downright annoying in some cases, but I’ve come out of it feeling like I’m a bigger person than I was when I first entered higher education.
I want to be more than just a reviewer. I want to be someone who thinks about things, who isn’t afraid to speak their mind, who provides a place to ramble and explain. I’ve written for my university’s student newspaper [https://www.redbrick.me/] for the past year, but the content there is constrained by what the publication wants in its pages. Fair enough, but that gets annoying after a while.
So, this is me saying that, yes, I love my books still, and I want to continue reviewing them here, but… Well, I want to talk about my adventure into sustainability, and my political opinions, and the fashion I’ve created from second hand shops and hand-me-downs.
And I hope you’re all going to come along for the ride. crackthespine: revamped, revisited, and renewed.
That wasn’t pretentious at all…
